SINCLAIR BROTHERS

Victorian brothers Wayne and John Sinclair gave us the 'Two Moons' LP in 1979 and appeared on Countdown and Sounds Unlimited. They toured as support for Don McClean, Janis Ian and Rita Coolidge. They recorded the singles "Yesterfool" in 1978 and "Love Me Like I Love You" in 1979 which were both included on the LP. Two more singles followed in 1980 "It Must Be Autumn" and "City Boy." The brothers performed ''City Boy'' on Countdown. The 'Two Moons' album was recorded at Festival Studios, in Sydney on the Infinty label and was produced and engineered by Martin Erdman. Wayne went solo in the early 80s playing the pub and wine bar circuit in Sydney. John Sinclair has since died.

  1. Wayne at the time was a 'song a day' guy, a prolific writer, it is sad that they aren't still in the mainstream.

    1. Hello "Unknown", my name is Phil Parli and I played bass in the Sinclair Bros Band on the Coolidge and Ian tours, as well as heaps of gigs in Sydney and other places at the time. I'm most sad to hear of Alan's passing as he was a nice bloke and an incredible drummer. I have cassette recordings of us from gigs around Sydney and it was a great tight rhythm section Al and I had happening. When I've finished my new album project I intend to transfer the tapes to digital at the studio I'm working in currently. They were taped directly through the desk but the mix is not too bad. I'm on Facebook if you"d like to hear these recordings. I will look forward to hearing from you. Cheers - PP

    2. I knew the family well. So very sad about John. Loved their music
Allan was a lovely person. Went to his family home once and met his Mum. She gave me some cleaning tips I have never forgotten. Loved listening to their music. I still have the vinyl

  3. Wayne Sinclair has been impossible to find on the Internet. Wayne was a huge part in my music career in the early 1980's... He and his brother had chart success years earlier. If anyone knows Wayne I would be grateful to know how he's going... Look me up on Facebook. Paul Bonner Jones.

  4. I loved going out to listen to these guys at venues in Adelaide. I got to sit and chat with them which was great. I still have their LP and every now and again I look for it on CD. I did try to put it from LP to CD, it worked but not as well as I hoped. I remember Wayne had played this song, which now I forget and it was just beautiful. I asked him for a copy of it but he was keeping it close to his chest. Thanks for the posts everyone.

  7. Sinclair bros are my brothers❤️ Sadly John has left the stage. Wayne is still very active and writing daily. Fabulous band! Great memories. They supported Janis Ian, Rita Coolidge and Don Maclean. Yes we lived in Warburton our folks had the Mountain Grand guest house but we were all born in Glen Waverley. Wayne is in Gippsland area now. We still catch up in Warby ❤️ Jill x
