MAGIC LUNCHBOX

Magic Lunchbox were an original rock band from Sydney. They released their first album 'The Yeeros Living Dangerously' in 1994 on independent label Troy Horse. This was followed by the albums 'Dickheads & Rainbows' (1997), 'What Time is the Orgy?' (2000) and 'Spastique' (2004). The band built their reputation around their live shows with their music is deeply rooted in eighties rock. In a market that’s hailed bands as the saviours of rock, time and time again, for simply copying the sixties and seventies formula, it was refreshing to hear something taking off the eighties and taking the piss at the same time. I would call Magic Lunchbox the eighties pop equivalent of The Darkness, as they musically borrow from that era, but they also parody the cliched lyrics.
