THE PROCLAIMERS

They first performed publicly in September 1966 at a Baptist Youth Fellowship rally, and by July 1967 they had adopted the name The Proclaimers. Led by future opera star Johnathon Summers, the group sometimes had as many as fifty members. Their recording debut came in 1968 with the EP 'Lord I'll Be Waiting.' Signed to the Fabel label, they went on to release several singles and albums. Over a forty-year career that wrapped up in 2006, they played more than 700 live shows.
