LAURIE WADE'S CAVALIERS

Started out in the early 60s as a surf group cutting one instrumental single for the Linda Lee label, ''The Phantom Guitarist / Cloudburst'' which was also released in NZ. Robert Campbell was replaced by Warren Isaacs when the band signed to the CBS label. Between 1965 and 1967 they cut four excellent singles. The style of music changed to beat, but their roots in surf served them well as all the records featured sharp original guitar work. Their producer at CBS was Sven Libaek, a staff producer from 1963-1968 whose credits included the Atlantics, Diana Trask, Doug Ashdown, The Groop, Lynne Randall and many others. They disbanded in 1968.
