Vyt (Vyt Zvirzdinas ) was signed up by CBS in the mid-60s. Managed by Nat Kipner he recorded his first single ''Why Do I Cry'' (a cover of the great garage rock song by Boston band The Remains) at Ossie Byrne's studio in Hurstville backed by The Bee Gees and Steve and The Board in 1966. His follow up single was ''Only Me / Act Of Innocence''(1967). Vyt then decided to form a group to write and record original music. Calling on close friend Chris Eggleton they put together a band which the members named The World. They recorded two singles under this moniker, ''Dapper Dan / Flower Children'' (1967) and ''Tiny Timothy / Silhouette Of A Shapely Miss''(1968). Due to unforeseen circumstances, they disbanded in 1968. Guitarist Chris Eggleton became a composer of soundtrack music; his credits include the early Nicole Kidman classic BMX Bandits. Vyt formed Advance Entertainment Pty Ltd promoting and producing rock events. Drummer Arthur Watson died in 2009.

Brian, did you know Arthur lived in Cairns from the mid 70s until his passing, he is buried at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery at Ourimbah on the Central Coast of NSW.
I've just come across this website and was saddened to hear that my old mate "Dreamy" had passed away. He was a good person and a great drummer and now he is probably playing drums for JC.
Living in the 60"s was great and I bought many records. One day a neighbour said 'hey why don't you look at this band'. Furthermore (and Ive never confirmed this) the members go to my school, the band's name is VYT and THE WORLD. I have one of their 45's and funny enough I've written the B side as the main song in my index book. Maybe I thought "Silhouettes of a shapely miss" was the better song. I've never been able to hear it on my computer, never been able to put this song on a cd or usb. Great song when I was 16 living in Parramatta.
"Dreamy" is buried at Palmdale Lawn Cemetery Ourimbah NSW if you're ever in the area, we gave him a great send off and played lots of Joe Cocker music which he loved. It was a huge shock to the family to lose him so suddenly as there was still lots of life left in him. The family had planned a surprise 60th birthday party for him which would have been 6 weeks after his passing but instead we held a Wake in Cairns with all the people he knew up there. Shirley
Arthur Watson (drummer) is my brother, unfortunately he passed away 10 April 2009.
