THE LEEMEN

Formed as an accompanying group by Leedon recording star Lonnie Lee in the late 50s. The Leemen quickly made a place in their own right with the record buying public. Their version of ''Johnny Guitar'' rocketed up to #18 on the national charts and this success was the forerunner of the many hits by aussie instrumental groups which was to follow. This single was also released in NZ and the USA. Another two EP's followed. The band went through many lineup changes during its existence. Peter Bazley died in 1999.
