IRON SHEIKS



A 'wrestlemania thrash metal' Adelaide band which formed in 1986 and finished in 2011. Members included, Stan Brock [Peter Christopher], Big Boss Daddyman [Rod Archer, DD Fister [Domenic Larizza], Tarz [Gerry McCaffery], Gordon Bennett [Mick Morris]. A popular band on the hard rock scene local and interstate, they released two albums both with Greasy Pop Records, 'Do You Sell Beer Here?' and 'Do You Fancy Me?' Both titles came from the Australian bikie film Stone. Peter Christopher and Mick Morris, originally with The Plague, went on to The Meatbeaters. Domenic Larizza also played with the Mad Turks and Gerry McCaffery with Kaos. Dave Gray, who played a number of shows on bass with the band, had also played with the Handmedowns and went on to join Melbourne group Rocket Science. The band has played the occasional gig since their halcyon days. In 1996 Bastard Records released the compilation 'Absolutely Sheik'. Rod Archer died in Feb 2016.
