KIM DURANT

Kim Durant was born in Macksville, NSW, in the late 1950s. At the age of 18, she moved to Sydney with her manager to further pursue her singing and acting career. Durant later relocated to Queensland, where she established herself as one of the state’s most awarded female entertainers. During her extensive career, she appeared in two Royal Command Performances and featured on major television programs throughout Australia. Signed to the Infinity label, Durant released her debut single, ''Givin’ Up on Love'', in 1979. A number of singles followed, along with the album 'Take Your Time With Me'. Durant also provided backing vocals for The Monitors on their biggest single, ''Singin’ in the ’80s''. Released in 1980, the song reached #16 on the Australian singles chart.
