INKASE

Formed in Adelaide in the mid 60s, Inkase made inroads in the local scene with their great sound. They recorded three singles on the Sweet Peach label at the Gamba studios owned by the late Derek Jolly in Melbourne Street, North Adelaide. They were ''Rene / I Love My Dog'' in 1969, ''I'm In A Dream / When She Goes She's Gone'' and ''Choo-Choo / Have You Ever Seen Me'' both in 1970. Of these releases "Choo Choo" was their most successful reaching #7 on the Adelaide charts. The song was written by Bob Gardiner of the Adelaide group The Harts. The band were very popular on the live scene and supported the likes of the Loved Ones and the Twilights.  They were also the opening and supporting act for The Beach Boys in 1970. Vocalist Steve Foster left the band and eventually became a singer/songwriter. In 1972 he was offered a record deal with Brian Cadd's Bootleg label and laid down his debut album, 'Coming Home in a Jar'. Foster died in 2018 after a short battle with cancer.
