CHRISTINE ROBERTS

Since her first single “This Is My Task”, at the tender age of 16 in 1966, Christine has proved to audiences, both here, and overseas, that she is not just a pretty face. Starting ballet classes at four and singing in clubs when she was 15, Christine has performed in most States and appeared on most locally produced television variety shows including The Tommy Leonetti Show , The Ernie Sigley Show and Bandstand. Following her first single she recorded on the CBS, Du Monde and Bunyip labels. Her album 'First Time A Woman' was released in 1979.

Roberts starred in several musicals, including South Pacific, and at 26 was the Australian Navy’s official pin-up. Christine has entertained overseas in England and Asia. In England she sang at Bailey’s in Watford (one of Princess Margaret’s favourite night clubs) before audiences of 2500 a night for three weeks. She also met Morcambe & Wise in London and was asked to go on their show, but unfortunately, she couldn’t wait for the taping. A member of the Royal Academy of Dancing and the London Trinity College of Music, Christine is qualified to teach in both.
