THE HOLLOWMEN

In 1985 Billy Baxter formed the folk pop group The Hollowmen with Mal Stanley on vocals, guitar and organ (ex-Burning Souls), Jon Von Goes on guitar, Danny Butler on bass guitar and Paul Johnstone on drums. They released an EP and album on Rampant Records before signing on with Au Go Go Records releasing two albums 'Broken Stuff' (1988) and 'So Long' (1990) with a few lineup changes in between. In the 1991 comedy film, Spotswood, Baxter and The Hollowmen appear as a rock group, the Cicadas. However, the group had disbanded before the film's release. They have on occasion reformed for a special event, most recently for the Punters Club Reunion.
