JACKSON KINGS



The Jackson Kings morphed out of a band called The Castaways in 1965 playing R&B covers. Signed to CBS they recorded two singles "Watch Your Step" and Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man" in 1966 before Ronnie Charles replaced Carl Bennett on vocals. The band gigged around Melbourne appearing at top venues like The Thumpin' Tum and Garrison. Later that year they disbanded with Brian Cadd and Ronnie Charles joining The Groop.
