The D Coys formed as a trio in Adelaide, South Australia around 1965. By 1966 Alistair Innes was the only one left until he was joined by Kevin Smith (ex-The Viscounts). After being signed by EMI they moved to Melbourne, released three singles, appeared on the Go!! Show and then sunk into obscurity. Kevin Smith would end up fronting The Cherokees around 1967. Innes later turned up in Multiple Balloon. Kevin Smith died in 2026.
