DAWN DIXON

Dawn Dixon was born in Melbourne in 1944. She was an independent self-managed artist/songstress in the 1960s and 1970's era who recorded a couple of singles on the Fable label. Her first release ''Bouzouki'' in 1971 charted at the lower end of the charts. Her second single ''Hand By Hand (Side By Side)'' didn't fare as well. Dawn performed all over Australia and the Asia Pacific Region. Dawn made over 300 TV appearances which included The Graham Kennedy Show, The Mike Walsh Show, I Like Music and The Terry Holden Show. She also served as a performer to the Australian Army troops during the Vietnam war, for which she was nationally awarded and recognised.

  1. Dawn Dixon sang in the Swinging Vine resturant on the Gold coast in the late 80s along with many other jazz bands and singers. She was extremely popular and was loved by all local and visitors alike. Fantastic Lady great voice.

  2. I believe Dawn had 2 boys twins Michael and Andrew. They are/were best friends with my Cousin Paul Thompson. The three were great break dancers and did shows in the Twain's shopping centre arcade and other shopping centre stages in the 80's. My best friend's mother and step father owned the Swinging Vine Victorie Cox (Batese) actress and Collin a Jazz Musician. I worked at the Swinging Vine for a time and watched Dawn Dixon Sing. They were like my family. Well, they were .
