Fantasy was a Melbourne pop group that was originally John Farnham's backing band. They had a huge novelty hit in 1973 with "Marrow Song" (which was the "B" side to the single ''Forty Days Of Rain''). If you listen to John's old material you can hear that the Fantasy boys were adept at providing vaudevillian backing for some of John's schmaltzy hits. Their second hit "Just Another Pretty Face" also charted and had a great nostalgic sound from a bygone era. The band played on many TV shows eg -
Don Lane, Ernie Sigley, Young Talent Time, Hey Hey It's Saturday plus Channel 7's Saturday night show
The Penthouse Club. In 1977 they released an album on the Hammard label titled 'A Tribute to Australian Rock and Roll'. The album covered well known aussie songs from The Groop, The Twilights, The Groove etc
