GLEN INGRAM

Glenn Ingram started his career in Perth in the early 60s. He recorded on the local Clarion label and in 1966 he had his biggest hit with ''Skye Boat Song'' (a Scottish folk song about Bonnie Prince Charlie's escape to the Isle of Skye after the Battle of Culloden in 1746). The single backed by The Hi Five charted nationally. It was also released in NZ on the Festival label. Ingram also recorded with local band The Clan and their version of ''Take This Hammer'' went #12 on the Perth charts in 1967. His last recording for Clarion was in 1971 with ''Let Me Be Free''. Ingram eventually became an artist in WA and won awards for his paintings.
