Tough Melbourne beat group originally called The Pressmen. In 1965 they auditioned for the job as house band at Pinocchio's night club. The promotions manager, Jeff Joseph liked what he saw and became their manager. This also saw a name change to The Wild Colonials. In the same year they had regular appearances on TV in Melbourne and Sydney and scored a recording contract with HMV that saw them release three singles. Their version of The Pretty Things' ''Get The Picture'', has become something of a classic of Australian '60s rock. In Jan 1966 they supported the Herman's Hermits and Tom Jones tour of Australia. Midway through 1966 Frank Main departed and was replaced by Peter Nicholl (ex-The Flies). They disbanded in 1967. Mick Flinn would later turn up in The Mixtures.
