Out of Wollongong with their roots firmly planted in the Detroit and ’60s punk scenes, the Noddys blazed away for the best part of a decade in the 1980s and early ‘90s, playing many high-profile supports and recording an EP and an as yet unreleased album with producer (and fan) Rob Younger.

Playing a one-off gig this Fridy night in Wollongong! https://www.facebook.com/events/640606542787881/
ReplyDeleteHey there, Warren Auld went on to form Froghollow based in the Southern Highlands of NSW, but played in Canberra, Wollongong and Sydney 2001-2005. A short bio below:
ReplyDeleteFroghollow were spawned in late 2001. Warren Auld, Harvey O'Sullivan and Dean Smith met on weekends to jam in the true garage-rock sense, in a garage! At that time, they were an un-named musical threesome producing 45 minute versions of Sunshine Of Your Love and hour long jams. No recordings exist.
However, a month or two later when asked to play a gig at a local Soccer
Club fundraiser it was time to begin playing as a proper band, the world wasn't ready for never ending interpretations of classic Cream songs just yet. A local drummer was found, Robin Stone, and Froghollow had arrived.
The local Soccer Club asked the band back to play. This gig included covers
of a range of artists, including, The Modern Lovers, The Velvet Underground, The Beatles, Steppenwolf, The Cure, & Joy Division. The other half of the songs were originals.
Froghollow's originals can be described as psychedelic rock, very 60's, with a hint of 70/80's style punk and mod.
Froghollow went into the studio in May 2002. The outcome was a 5 song demo CD.
Since then, Froghollow have been blowing away an unsuspecting public with their driving sounds. October saw Froghollow blast away the Pot Belly Bar in Canberra for a couple of gigs. They got a track, "Images Of Broken Dreams" included on the second Pot Belly Bar Comp CD at track 13 no less!
8 new songs were recorded on 6/1/03. With the 5 recorded before, an album's worth of material now exists.
Since then Froghollow have been playing locally, in Sydney, Wollongong and in Canberra and have appeared at some Youth functions.
They disbanded in early 2005.
Froghollow is;
Warren Auld – Guitar, Vocals, Jug
Harvey O’Sullivan – Keyboards, Vocals, Guiro
