Dave Yelland, Jeff Gurr and Ian Nancarrow formed The Bucket after their departure from well-known Adelaide blues band The Others. They recorded one single in 1969, the A side being ''Papa's Taking Us To The Zoo Tomorrow'' which is eerily close to Tom Paxton's original song ''Going To The Zoo'' and the B side ''I Can't Help Thinking Of You'' which was written by Mick Bower who had been a member and chief songwriter for The Masters Apprentices. Nancarrow and Gurr returned to The Others and The Bucket disappeared. Albert Sawyer has since died.
