Jeff Gurr and Ian Nancarrow joined The Bucket following their departure from the well-known Adelaide blues band The Others. In 1969, The Bucket recorded a single featuring “Papa’s Taking Us to the Zoo Tomorrow” on the A-side, a song bearing a striking resemblance to Tom Paxton’s “Going to the Zoo”. The B-side, “I Can’t Help Thinking of You”, was written by Mick Bower, a former member and chief songwriter of The Masters Apprentices. Nancarrow and Gurr later returned to The Others, and The Bucket subsequently disappeared from the scene. Albert Sawyer has since died.
