THE BARRY LEE TRIO
Formed in Melbourne in the early 1960's, often playing at the Village Green Hotel. Barry Lee trained as a classical pianist and soon specialised on the electric organ. Drummer Rex Swann had played in many nightspots throughout the country and had performed on radio and TV in many jazz combos. Guitarist Russ was one of Melbourne's leading players with his music ranging from Bach to Brubeck. The band released one album on the W&G label in 1966. 'On Safari' contained covers of all the hits of the day.
