ReplyDeleteThanks for that mate. If you want to add more info about your group please do so. Cheers
DeleteHi. Mike Griffin here. Played bass and shared vocals with Dave Hyde in the 'Benders in mid 70s for about 2 years while I was in late high school and early uni. My brother Steve was also in the band then and stayed on when I left. He took over lead guitar from Jane who went onto rhythm guitar and backing vocals. I currently compose & record originals with my band Ten Tribes Of Texas which you can hear on iTunes, Spotify, Cd Baby, YouTube and all good dowload and streaming stores. You can also find us on Facebook. Sorry to hear about Dave and Jane passing away. May have some pics of the band in latter years to load up.
DeleteThanks for the info. Half Breed label is that yours mate?
DeleteYes. Half Breed label is mine. Can see it on iTunes CD Baby etc. Great blog.
DeleteBenders became pretty much what is known as a 'show band' in later years. Continued to play Corp gigs etc
ReplyDeleteDon't know why my posts above were made under 'malcontent'
ReplyDeleteUsed to plat regularly in St. Peters Mission Hall in Elizabeth at a dance called Penny Lane Inn. You got in cheaper if you joined their fan club.
