THE ANTS BUSH BAND

The Ants’ are a Victorian bush band who have been delighting audiences of all ages since 1976. Many members have passed through their ranks throughout their 40 plus years existence. The band recorded albums through EMS Records, AndrĂ©a RCA/BMG and provided support to British folk band Steeleye Span and American country performer Charley Pride. The Ants have appeared on many television variety shows and featured at folk and country music festivals around Australia. In 1999, the band appeared at the Trans Asia Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Later that year they were invited to perform at the Sheraton Resort Denarau Island in the beautiful Fiji Islands.

As an adjunct to their rollicking and unique sound, The Ants are also skilled instructors of colonial dances that include the Gallopede, Brown Jug Polka and the popular Drongo. The band has won many accolades including being finalists in the Victorian Country Music Battle of the Bands, finalists in TEN Network's Showcase '78 and finalists in Nine Network's Safeway New Faces.
