In 1991 Chris formed All The Young Dudes an original band that was comprised of such members as Warren Mclean (Divinyls), Tony Featherstone (Badloves), Pierre (Pseudo Echo). In 1993 Chris formed Dragonfly with Craig Harnath. recording two EP's 'River of Love' and 'Black Money'. In 1994, Chris' voice was again heard across the airwaves when he was selected to perform the lead vocal for the theme to the Channel Nine Footy Show, "More Than A Game". The song appeared on the album of the same name the following year.
Chris released another solo single in 1997 entitled "Can You Hear The Rain?" and was also commissioned to work with Working Dog Productions on the DVD & Video of The Castle. In 1998 EMI records approached Chris to compile a Geisha "best of" CD. Chris went in to the studio to clean up and digitize the tracks and EMI released an album that year titled 'The Very Best Of Geisha'. Chris took this opportunity to do some showcase gigs with Geisha which were hugely successful.
In 2005 Chris was approached by American label Almacantar Records to distribute the Geisha catalogue in the States. This went so well that Chris traveled over to do some shows during the American summer of 2007. Upon his return he met guitarist Joe Matera who soon joined Geisha and together with one of the original 80's members Tom Hosie and new member Alby Stefani recorded some brand-new tracks and released an album titled 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow'.
In late 2010 Matera left the group to focus on his solo career. In 2011 the Geisha line-up of Doheny on vocals, guitar and bass guitar; Tom Hosie on drums (previously in the 1987 line-up); and Alby Stefani on bass guitar, guitar and keyboards; recorded material for a proposed new studio album, 'Dysphasia'. The lead single, "Sailing", was issued in July 2011. According to Chris Doheny's website the album was due before Christmas in 2011. Early in 2012 Doheny released a solo single, a cover of Foo Fighters' "Times Like These".
