LES GOCK

Les Gock (born 1954) originally came to prominence when he joined the Australian band Hush in 1972. Hush was an Australian glam rock pop band, which formed in 1971 and disbanded in 1977. They had top 10 hits on the Kent Music Report with their cover versions of "Bony Moronie" and "Glad All Over" (both 1975). The group frequently appeared on the TV pop music show, Countdown, and toured nationally. As well as being a guitarist, Gock was also a writer and co-producer, receiving 12 gold records during his time with the band. After leaving Hush, Gock became a music and sound design director in film and television soundtracks, receiving industry recognition in the form of Gold Clios, Facts Awards, and New York International Advertising Festival Awards.

Gock founded Song Zu, a music and sound design company. He sold the business in 2001 and continues working with his new business, Les Gock Sound Thinking, which specialises in audio branding. He has been Chairman of the Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association (AWARD) and was the Chairman of the Commercial Music Producers Association (CMPA). Gock was the main composer of the Network 10 news theme.
