TESS MCKENNA
Tess McKenna is an independent artist based in Melbourne and has released two EPs and five studio albums. 'Make Me Wonder', Tess McKenna's alternative country debut album, was released to critical acclaim in 1993 and established her as a singer and songwriter of rare talent. Steeped in double bass from Barry "'Fats‚" Stockley and guitar from Andrew Pendlebury 'Make Me Wonder' is warm, dense and speaks of love and loss, at times so sadly beautiful you can almost taste the tears.
Tess has recorded and performed her songs with some Australia’s top musicians at festivals, concert halls throughout Australia and internationally; from Hamer Hall and the Byron Bay Blues Fest (NSW, AUS) to The Regent Theatre and Austin’s SXSW (Texas, USA). Her vocals and her music have been included on Australian film, television series and documentaries and she has toured as guest support for artists such as Lucinda Williams and Nick Cave. Since releasing 'Before You Wandered In' (2019) and launching at The Tote in Melbourne, Tess McKenna continues to perform with her band, including: Ashley Davies drums, Karen Rush bass-vocals and Michael den Elzen on guitar.
