CAT CRITCH
Cat Critch is a singer from Perth. Her career started in the mid 70s when she fronted Perth jug band Duck Soup that played everything from Billie Holliday to Marshall Tucker with the instruments at hand - guitars, harmonicas, pianos, bass, drums, washboards, kazoos, and piano accordion. In 1980 she relocated to Sydney and became the singer/ lyricist half of Plan 8 with Phillip Colville, an electronic keyboard dance band on the Oxford Street gay scene. She released a single ''A Rose For You'' on the Mighty Boy label in 1987.
Cat moved back to Perth and during the 90's she created various jazz combos under the names - Cat and the Sophistocats and Cat Critch on the Rocks. Today Cat maintains an interest in 'pop synth' and writes songs via Ableton Live. She also creates videos with iMovie to illustrate songs from Duck Soup and Plan 8's back catalogue and records and performs live whenever possible. Her current band is Cat and Rowse Set and they are gigging in Perth.
