THE GRADUATES

The Graduates were an Australian doo-wop vocal harmony group formed in the late 1950s. The members included Sydney University students Peter Paige and Bill Venables, Nancy Eichhorn (a soloist), and Scots-born Pat McCluskey, who left accountancy studies to pursue entertainment. They backed artists recording for EMI, Festival, and Leedon labels, such as Roy Melton, Candy Williams, Col Joye, and others, while also releasing their own music. They had a minor hit with "Little Donkey" in 1959 and appeared on TV shows like Six O'Clock Rock with Johnny O'Keefe. That same year, Tony Brady joined briefly for a tour with the Fabian Show. Before recording their debut album 'The Glory Of Love,' Bill Venables left the group. Nancy Eichhorn passed away in 2023.

  1. Just booked tickets at the Jetty Memorial Theatre Coffs Harbour for Dec. 23 to see restored Lee Gordon Rock'n'Roll 1959 film. The Graduates are one of the bands in that 80 minute film
