ALPHA OMEGA
Guitarist John Bellamy had played bass with the Sebastian Hardie Blues Band in the late 60s. Between 1971 and 1973 he left for Europe where he wrote and arranged music before returning to Melbourne in 1974. On return he formed Alpha Omega, a five-piece jazz fusion band. Their self-titled album was recorded in 1976 on the Clear Light Of Jupiter label. It was their only release.

I met up with John Bellamy in Europe and then joined him in Melbourne when this work was recorded. I was at the studios everyday as this work was being done. Dave Brown and I were Kiwis. John Bellamy taught me how to play Bass and I finally ended up working with him after we had moved up to live in Canberra in 1977/78. When you listen to this work you will enjoy the complicity/complexity of it. Remarkable stuff.
