SANDY SCOTT

Sandy Scott born in Sydney in 1941, was the only son of English parents. In his teens, he took a day job at a bank in Sydney and at night he was singing with local bands. Signed to the CBS label he recorded a number of singles and an EP with them from 1963 to 1965. His big break came with national exposure on Brian Henderson's television show, Bandstand. Sandy was very popular and signed a 10-year contract to appear exclusively on the program. Moving to the ATA label he recorded his biggest selling hit song with ''Wallpaper Roses'' in 1966 which went #24 nationally. At that time he was rated one of the country's best vocalists. Sandy also appeared in many stage musicals and was the compere of TV shows Family Feud and Sound of Music. His album 'Great Scott - It's Sandy' (1971) was a best-seller. Sandy Scott is married to Col Joye's sister Carol.

  2. So glad to hear Sandy Scott is out there somewhere. How can we ever forget nor fail to mention our appreciation of his lovely voice and presentation in those early days of Bandstand (and other venues)...great recordings also over the following years. Thanks Sandy for the memories and to those kind folk who informed of his obvious longevity.

  3. Great to hear Sandy is still around with us, but it seems so strange that when you google him youi can find very, very little information about him, not even in wiki, but other less know artists you google you get so much information that a lot of it is so minute one would wonder why the hell was that info put there in the first place. We need more info on a lot of our artists .
