THE STEVE GROVES BAND

The Steve Groves Band was another short lived project for Steve Groves, who'd been in a succession of groups beginning with The Kinetics in 1965 and was best known as a key member of Tin Tin, whose single ''Toast and Marmalade for Tea'' was a hit in 1971. Groves co-wrote ''I'm On The Loose (Again)'' with Bryan Dawe. It won the ''Outstanding Performance and Outstanding Composition Award'' when Marty Rhone performed the song in the 1976 World Popular Song Contest in Tokyo. Buoyed by the success, Groves formed the Steve Groves Band and released the song as a single on Brian Cadd's Bootleg label which did OK. One more single followed ''Here I Am / Slippery Shoes'' but went nowhere.

Members

Steve Groves (guitar, vocals), Roger Corbett (bass), Bob Donaldson (drums), Debbie Groves (vocals), Dave Maddick (fiddle), Mick Myers (keyboards), Dale Allison Walker (vocals)
