WARPED

Hard rockin' alternative rock band from Geelong that formed in 1992. Warped produced a large catalogue of music over their 30 years exitance. They started out on the infamous Au Go Go label with their debut album 'Slimeax' in 1995 with the lineup of Ben Watkins on vocals/guitar, Matt Nicholson on guitar, Nathan Smith on bass and Cris Wilson on drums. Warped put out mini-albums and albums as well as a series of fanzines. A new home at Festival Mushroom Records produced the ground-breaking and long celebrated 'On the Make' album along with a handful of singles and videos. Several independent 7” releases, a picture disc, split 7”s and even limited press cassettes, saw the light of day. Countless bootleg and radio sessions live recordings exist, as do hundreds of hours of live video footage. Releases in Europe and Japan during the years came in many forms from many labels.

The album, 'Quicker Ways to Blacker Eyes' was released on Casadeldisco – and a new home was found at Shock. Often noted as their best album, it received widespread airplay and praise as an Australian Rock and Roll album to be put on the shelf with the greats. Their final album 'Bolt From The Blue' was released in 2018. Over the years they had a few lineup changes with Ben Watkins and Cris Wilson being the only constant. Warped played their 'last show ever' at the Barwon Club in Geelong on Saturday, May 21st, 2022. Nathan Smith died in 2022.
