NINETEEN HUNDRED AND ONE (1901)



Australian Country group 1901 was popular in the latter half of the 1970s for their crisp harmonies and a focus on songs of nostalgia, including old Australian standards. Their popularity was rewarded by winning three major awards at the Australasian Country Music Awards, including two as Group of the Year in 1980 and 1982, as well as winning the International Harmony Award in Nashville, USA in 1980. They released three albums, 'An Old Fashioned Way Of Country Singing (1979), 'Memories' (1980) and 'Sings A Tribute To Smoky Dawson' (1981).
