STEELTOWN

Steeltown was formed from the remnant members of a Scottish group called the Technicians who migrated to Australia in the 80s with single releases, "Hot for Love", "Clockwork Clown" and "Soldier of Fortune" through record labels Powderworks and Jade and were published by MMA which was owned by legendary rock outfit INXS. Based in Brisbane Steeltown performed in the 90s and their music was a combination of synth, rock and pop. Their only single ''Hero'' was released in September 1991 on the Mushroom label. Several members of the group are immortalized on the Australian National Film and Sound Archive 'Queensland Day Royal Expo Concert'. Notable national tours were with The Pretenders, Allison Moyet, Mental as Anything, Wa Wa Nee, Pseudo Echo, Uncanny X-Men. Both Steeltown and The Technicians were produced by Peter Blyton, an internationally based producer.
