Obscure 60s band out of Adelaide that was formed by local vocalists Lindsay Barton and Roger Dee. (Dee had already recorded a single with The Vibrants backing him, ''Maybe Tomorrow'' on the W&G label in 1965). Barton recalls how the name of the band came about ''I named the band when we were trying to find a name. I received my third party insurance in the post and suggested we call the band The Third Party and Roger agreed and that's how it came about''.
The band released one single ''Now It's Time / Russian Spy And I'' on the Columbia label in 1967 which reached the bottom of the charts. The Third Party played regularly around their hometown and also gigged in Melbourne. The band included Rick Brewer who went on to play drums in a succession of bands including Zoot, I'Tambu and Jim Keays' Southern Cross before joining The Ferrets, playing on their national #1 hit "Don't Fall In Love", in 1977 and the album 'Dreams Of A Love'. He later formed the Motivaters (1980-82). Vocalist Roger Dee died in 2012.
