THE TAYLOR SISTERS

Sydney sisters Annette and Marilyn Taylor appeared on popular TV music variety shows like Cafe Continental (1958–61), Teentime, and Six O’Clock Rock (1959–62). They performed at major nightclubs across Sydney and even toured to Adelaide and Brisbane. The duo recorded two singles with the HMV label and another two with the Leedon label. Annette died in 2014, while Marilyn, in the mid-50s, was a Vege-Mite who sang the iconic ''Happy Little Vegemites'' jingle.

  3. I remember the Taylor Sisters from the 50s at Burwood Girls' High School. We non-glamorous-gawky-non singing gals thought they were the epitome of glamour and beauty.

  6. I attended the same dancing school as Annette and Marilyn in the late 40's . Sweet girls with a pushy stage mother. I couldn't do a back bend to save my life ... they were brilliant!! I went on to become a classical singer (opera) and actor ... never did the splits either ... sigh!! Sorry to hear about Annette.

  7. Annette and Marilyn lived across the road from my aunt and uncle in Russell Lea. They were bridesmaids for my cousin Annette in 1960. I was the flowergirl - I had just turned 5.
