RUPERT B

Rupert B, originally known as Rupert B Funkfield Filth Band, played funk music around Sydney from the late 70's. The original lineup was Rohan Cannon (guitar, vocals), Mick Thornton (trumpet/trombone), Mick Buckley (drums), Kevin O'Brien (sax) and Michael Deep (bass). The band started gigging at the Mosman Hotel on Friday nights where they packed the place out every week. With a horn section, Rupert B covered Tower of Power, Funkadelic etc. They were signed to RCA and released a couple of singles. Steve Balbi replaced Reed and Bill Mayer replaced O'Brien before they recorded their only album 'Give It To Me One More Time' in 1982 of original songs before disbanding. Steve Balbi would go on and join Noiseworks.
