THE SHOWER SCENE FROM PSYCHO

Championed by luminaries like John Peel etc., The Shower Scene From Psycho were a captivating absurdity. Labouring out of Melbourne in the 80s their compelling brew of fuzz guitars, virtuosic theremin solos, helium vocals and outbursts of delirious musique concrete noise is a sound unheard before or since. A post-punk re-imagining of 60s bubblegum pop concocted from strategic cover versions and peerless originals that will leave you singing along as your ears melt. Initially focused around deconstructing pervasive pop hits (One, Purple Haze etc.) the band grew into a fascinating beast producing otherworldly eccentric epics (Lost In Spaces, Falling Down To Hell, Candy Machine) and dark humanistic masterpieces (In My Mind). Jack Bloom died in Feb 2023.

  7. I used to go to Kew High School with him in the early to mid '70's. He was really into Dracula films and was a bit "strange" even back then! Lost track of him after that...
